On my 72 20' CC T-top with a 200 Johnson, 17x19 SS, I'm turning 5700 to 5800 WOT and 51 mph. The hole shot is incredible.

My 1970 20SF has a 97 Carbed 200HP Merc. 21 inch LaserII
prop. 24 inch Bennett tabs and 80 gallon tank. By myself
the hole shot and top end is great. Top speed 62mph on the
GPS at 5800rpm. (My engine has been tricked out) If I put three of my 250lb buddies in the boat, hole shot and top speed drops off real bad. Solution: 4 blade prop for those times when I run a heavy load. Top speed is around 55mph 5800 rpm(with 4 big guys in the boat) But my hole shot is far better, not quite as good with the 3 blade by myself, but it works. Hope this helps.

My 66 Moesley is running a 150 EFI merc with a 200 horse tuner. I run a three blade 21 laser and run in the high 50s mph. I used a CCM 6 inch setback bracket and get the motor as high as I dare. moving in back and up will help your top end. my bow rider 19 is now a center consule and moving the weight back realy kicks. the chine walk can get unnerving though.

terry

What year is your merc 150 EFI ? Does fitting the 200 HP tuner turn the 150 into a true 200 HP engine or some where in between ? Will a 200 HP tuner fit on a 2001 Merc 150 EFI and what are the draw backs ?
