Default Re: Show me your inboard

Anybody ever had to beef up their T-top due to not enough support back aft. my t-top as you can see in the picture has virtually no support aft. The t-top itself is not the greatest design. I am taking it to a guy this weekend to see if he has any ideas. Also on the top of the console when under way you can see the console flex where the t-top enters it. I am going to beef it up on the underside as well, any ideas with that?? Its not to complicated and i'm sure a good marina could make it solid as a rock. Just wanted to see if you guys had any ideas. Thanks

although mine is old and fairly ugly it ties in to the console with pipe running from the electronics box (bolted to the top and to the 4 legs) to the top of the console- and the legs go to the deck, which are attached and held tight to the console with "U" bolts and then bolted/screwed to the deck (dont have access to thru bolt all- lemme see if I can find a pic- its very sturdy-

Here is a pic of my brothers 1976 23 with Yanmar Diesel inboard:

And here is a pic of my father-in-law's 1979 (I think) to-be-determined gas inboard:

The engine was new when we got the boat but due to the risers not being tall enough and a bad bilge pump setup she partially submerged herself on the mooring and water went through the exhaust and into the engine. The previous owner kept it on a lift and a trailer so he would not have known the issues existed so no hard feelings there. When rain water got into the hull it did not self bail very well, went into the bigle and forward fishbox which made the bow go down, then there was no float switch on the closest bilge pump....anyway, now the engine is siezed. Only had it for a few weeks before it happened and it has not been in the water since. We'll get it all squared away this winter with a new engine, proper bilge pump setup and a variety of other things like an electrically raised center console for engine access.
