Scallop boat VHF channel NJ area?
What are the typical VHF channel(s) you would try if attempting to hail a commercial dragger on the 30 line in search of scallop guts or bycatch for BFT??

Re: Scallop boat VHF channel NJ area?
Jeff, any non-commercial channel. 9, 68,69,71,72. Just make sure you stay off the USCG working channels 21,22,23.
But you should have no problem getting him on 16. By law all vessels are required to monitor it. Or let him pick the working channel. If your asking, does a NJ scallop boat have a designated working channel the answer is no.
