im running a 1993 200 2.5 litre mariner on her with a 17' stainless wheel i cruise at around 27mph running around 4100 rpm's however i dont know what kind of milage im getting i think i probabbly in the 8-12 gph range.i think the power i have on there is fine if anything maybe a 225 opti but the boat is perfect with 200 for my needs and trust me i do take her out in some snotty weather ....all you need is the correct prop on the boat and 1 engine is more than sufficient esp with the price of fuel these days.

Thanks, That's good info. I go a ways out and think at the very least I might need a kicker.I have a 225 optimax on now.
I'll try it fisrt because it is in good shape. I just never had a mercury engine and I don't know the full history of this one.
I'll let you know about how it goes on a bracket.

mercury's generally sound like a bucket of bolts when they are idling or running at low speeds but they really run smooth when your running them give it a try i think you will like the merc they make a good product in my opinion.
