Default Questions about 1974 20ft

I recently picked up a 1974 20ft Sea Craft. I posted pics of it in the photo section...titled 18ft project becuase I was told it was an 18 and never really looked at the boat.

Those of you that have done rebuilds or are familiar with the boat, what are the common things that probably need to be redone? I'm expecting the transom...especially since it has the steel plate, the gas tank, and all of the wiring.

Would you expect the stringers to be bad?

The leaning post that is on there is done and is coming off as well as the teak lining on the deck. The hatches are all soft and rotted. I've had the boat now since Saturday night...just got in it really quickly yesterday to snap a few pics and didn't look at anything else. The spray rails are like a hard rubber material and the screw holes on them are filled with silicone or 5200. What would be the best thing to use to fill them and blend them in?

The plan is to get her to look like her big sister...05 23ft Sea Craft. White hull, black water line with gold trim, and probably an 05 150 optimax.

Thanks in advance,
Luis

There are a ton of threads on what people have done with their twenties so grab a cold one and go nuts with the search feature.

To get you brewing

The transom, replace and raise to 25", The stringers are Fiberglass so you should be good there, You may want to raise the deck up 2-3 inches for better drainage, and lastly maybe update the console with a new style from Birdsall or Marine Connection.

I thought of my 20 as a blank canvas and went nuts, Some say its like a picaso and others finger paint....

enjoy and take plenty of pictures!!!!

Thanks.

I must be doing the search feature wrong because all I am getting are threads and replies. I have done the dated search as well for anything in the past years and it always says that it didn't find anything. I'll just keep playing with it and see what I find.

Luis

Howdy, REMOVE the "1" out of the Newer than box. Date Range leave blank.
Newer than "1" Day(s) Week(s) Month(s) Year(s)
Older than "#" Day(s) Week(s) Month(s) Year(s)

Put any # in the Older than & it should work!
