Default Scupper drains again

I know the consensus of opinion on this and other boards/forums seems to be that the TH Marine ball scuppers are preferable to Rabud’s SeaScuppers for use over the ends of through the transom scupper pipes, but I noticed that the Rabud’s are available in a 3” dia. model. Anyone tried them or have an opinion on them?

Has anyone tried TH Marine’s Duck Bill Scupper (http://www.thmarine.com/product.cfm?PRID=189)
over the ends of through the transom scupper pipes?

Anyone using FELLOW-SHIPS VORTEX system on vertical scuppers/drains on a 20 SF? If so, any opinions on modifying TH Marine’s standard cockpit scupper drain to fit in the recess in the deck over the top of the drain tube (see http://www.thmarine.com/product.cfm?PRID=56 )?

How about a modification of this product http://www.thmarine.com/product.cfm?PRID=57 (the Flush Mount Scupper Assembly)? Seems like it would do the same thing as the glove or condom used in the VORTEX system.

I used the Duck Bills (or something very similar) on my Bertram 25 many years ago and they worked great! The only drawback is that the Blue Crabs kept eating them thinking they were edible so I had to replace them about once a year. Otherwise they never clogged up and always drained right.

Ha Decobbet
I just want to say that I was out on my 23 Saturday and drifted 6 hrs in 2-4 / 3-5 used the Vortex and didn’t get any water in the boat from the vertical scuppers. I know they wound cost much and probably if is sold them and asked $15.00 a Piece they would take off with everyone that still have vertical scuppers. They really work great, it’s worth the try to make some and try them out before you spend a lot of time and $$ to customize your boat.
Oh we cought 2 for 3 on Sailfish and 4 ok size dolphin live baiting off of Miami.
