Hey guys I run the 23 Pro Angler for SeaCraft. It is merely a 25 but we are putting an options package together for the boat to be sold as is from the factory for SKA guys.
The SKA rule states the vessels waterline must be less that 23 feet 11 inches and marketed as such. The factory is very interested in getting involved with the the SKA and bettering their public image. I am the third team of four to recieve and fish our boat. I can tell you already that we have a lot of input as to changes and modifications to existing hulls for a better product. We work very closely and communicate often with the head engineer. SeaCraft has a lot of new things in the works that I am pretty excited about and I am sure you guys will too. I Don't think I am allowed to divulge details yet but good things are coming. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask anytime. Jack |
You know, I have been scratching my head about this type of advertising movement going on in the fishing industry lately. We are seeing boats that have those advertising plastic rapping on them now, guys dressing like the Bobsy twins, acting like a bunch of jerks when they catch a fish and even worse if they miss one. Just a couple of months ago I was watching TV and turned to a bass tournament. Well the two announcers were warring Tie’s and Sports Coats. What’s Up With That??? Has fishing gone Hollywood??? I thought it was about getting up early jumping in a boat catching some fish drinking a beer or two having a lot of fun with a few close friends and then coming home and eating your catch??? I must be getting old. FellowShip |

Tournment fishing is nothing like that. It's hard and stressfull. It's fishing 2 day's on 4hrs of sleep. Running the crap out of your equipment and thing's get broken. Fishing when you normally would have stayed in port. I can't do it anymore. My body will not let me. I fish the smaller one's now and have my nephew as the angler. He's 14 now and we don't run ball's to the wall's.

We eat kings. Some people in the Gulf think they are trash fish but personally my friends and I like them. They are best fried as nuggets or marinated in the old Italian dressing and grilled. IMO they don't freeze too well. Usually the fish from tournaments are sold to fish houses and then the proceeds are donated to a charity. If you stick more than one, teams that don't make use of them will donate them at weigh in for the charity.
I am from NJ originally...many people love blues in NJ but down here, many people in NC people think they are a trash fish and only good for bait. Then there are others like myself who enjoy them. Just as in life, different strokes for different folks. Regarding the shirts, ours are pretty sweet. SeaCraft provided 4 of each to each of the team members. We and the other SeaCraft teams have been told many times over that we have the best team shirts around. My embroiderer even said the same thing and couldn't believe the how much work goes into each shirt with out him adding personal sponsors. I think this is mostly due to Tracker and the 500+ pro BASS guys they have. We only wear our shirts at weigh-in's and at the Nat'l Championships (photo oppertunities) but the other guys like to wear theirs at the captain meetings and such. Like somone above mentioned, it is simply advertising and that is what the sponsors are looking for...getting their brand seen. |

When I catch a King fish I usually give it away to someone that has been bugging me about giving them some fish. After I give them a bunch of Kings they usually never ask me for fish anymore.

My fishing shirts usually have so many blood stain spots on them if I would walk into a store most people would think I just got in a fight with a suicide bomber who blew himself up right in front of me.
