PS: I am also going to allow any bolts that go through the deck to also be on top of the carpet for access/ maint. i.e SS rail thru-bolts, window frame bolts/nuts etc.

On the Potter cabin I made doorskin panels and covered them with headliner material for the headliner to cover the windshield bolts etc.

That sounds interesting. How do you attach the skins to the cabin ? And, what material do you use to make these skins ?
