So according to my local OMC dealer (Don's Marine) both you and Chuck have this feature.

Jason, I don't hear that "Clicking" sound like your motors when I try it. I don't know how to tell if the timing is being advanced
Maybe my motors are "special" your neighbors sure seem to think so!!!

Capt. Chuck,

I don't hear a clicking sound either, I have a series of lights on my gauges after all of the lights are lit, it fires right up.

Bones,

Is that the quicksilver?

Chuck, I spoke to my source who did the attached tests on the oils, There is no difference in water cooled and air cooled oils. His words were 2 cycle is 2 cycle only the manufacturers. Mercury has the most Molybdenum, which lubricates and bonds to the metal. Mercury has the highest content of any of the ones tested.

MACHINE_NUM COMPONENT COMPONENT NUM MO
Two Cycle Oils CONTROL LUBE Stihl 0.30
Two Cycle Oils CONTROL LUBE Mercury TCW 3 1088.45
Two Cycle Oils CONTROL LUBE Suzuki TCW 3 1.55
Two Cycle Oils CONTROL LUBE Yamaha TCW 3 1.12
Two Cycle Oils CONTROL LUBE Havoline TCW 3 0.77
Two Cycle Oils CONTROL LUBE Mystic TCW 3 0.76

I was unable to post the whole chemical break down, but will
be glad to email to any one who wants it.

See ya, Ken
