Anyone know if SC really offered this in the mid 80s?

yes, I have confirmed with 2 original owners that their 1986 and 1987 23's came with full transoms. One came with a gil bracket and the other an Armstrong

Update on 1986 ? 23 CC factory full Transom.Today I agreed on a price for this boat after full inspection and sea trial. How ever I have left a message on the current owners cell phone as to the exact year.He faxed me the bill of sale that show the purchase to be on 9/10/87. Do I need to be concerned that this changes from CSY to Tracker at about that exact time. Also fax me the bill on the 225 Johnson replace by a 1999 at 7/9/98 with new sea star sterring at the same time. Bill of sale shows the transom option and armstrong along with other option he did not mention. He had the tank replaced two years ago.He paid $26839.95 when he bought the boat. Thanks Keith

A bill of sale does not necessarly give the date of hull manufacture. A hull manufactured after August (last quarter of the calender year) generaly is titled the following year. Your dates and numbers are confusing here. Your hull Id number will tell the truth.

CSY only built the 23' and 27' SeaCraft for approx 1 year (sometime thru 1981) Therefore 1987 is a Tracker built hull.

Chucks right. The first three letters in the HIN are key. There is a degree of uncertainty after 1980 in regards to who made what. For instance I've seen a 23 TXY hull from '81.
