For reference: 2004 23' center console, 250 hp Suzuki 4-stroke.
4000 RPMs = 26 knots, 2.5-2.6 MPG
3800 RPMS = 24 Knots, 2.6 MPG
4200 RPMs = 27 knots, 2.4-2.5 MPG
This is calculated using a Floscan and GPS. MPG is also in knots. All are averages for load and weather conditions, which affect me about 5-10%.

Guys . . . Try to post as accurate information as possible. Not trying to be an ass here, but some folks are posting top end speeds that are impossible to reach given the combination of RPM's, gear ratio, and prop pitch that they are running.

Many people will look at these numbers and wonder what is wrong with their boat . . . and why they can't achieve speeds that person x is getting with the exact same setup.

40knts(48mph) vs. 40mph is a huge difference in speed.

Here's a nice prop slip calculator that should help . . .
boat speed is a mathematical equasion.

Hulls My Man! A big diff. too. I would get right at 46 MPH before the re-store & now I'm lucky with a tail wind & swift current to get 39 ! Same everything (hull, motor, prop)except for weight ? New paint on the bottem. Juz' can't figure it out???? Now when I had the "Tweaked" 200 Mariner well lets juz' say WhooWeee! She be on da' top! Not even a shiner get disturbed!

I get to 41 knots (not MPH) with the 250 Suzuki pushing a 16X21.5 prop.
