Default 1975 20' CC with 2003 Johnson 175

I'm presently having my transom rebuilt on my '75 20'sf to add a 2003 Jouhnson 175 carbed 2 stroke. Boat has a T-top. If anyone has the same or a similar combination I'd like to know what kind of performance I can expect - and maybe a prop recommendation. Thanks

Caper, sorry about the delay. I have a 1979 20 MA, transom redone in 1999, same as factory. (Did not know of site at that time). 1999 Johnson 175 carbed turning 14 1/2 X 19 SS and would not change a thing. (Maybe the six carbs making her a 200). Just kidding. Disconnected VRO two years ago. Peace of mind. I know the boat tops out over 45, though not GPS'ed, and think I am nearing the 50 mark. No T-top, no captains chairs or leaning post. Just 68 gallons of fuel and a 48 quart cooler loaded with Ultra. Very sweet combination. I think you will really enjoy it. Next question will be Bennet trim tabs. I hear they are the ticket.

Will be in Wellfleet Sept. 15-28 or so. RIGHT after the traffic LEAVES! I have enough here.

Funny, been staying with family since childhood. Now stay with friends. Last twenty years, adult life, have not traveled south of Orleans circle, excuse me, roundabout, while staying 11-14 days per year. Of course, I drive 18 hours to get there, and have my independence, while intruding, I mean, visiting. Good Luck. Part II.

Thanks for the reply. I am going to start with a 14 1/2 X 19 aluminum prop just to see if that's about right. I fish out of Barnstable Harbor and spend a lot of time off Wellfleet working the shoals for stripers and bluefish. Late September and all of October is the best time of year. Late fall I usually move the boat over to Osterville and fish off the Vineyard.

Vezo good luck missing the traffic!!! it used to leave right after labor day but no more busy right up till late Oct. Now I don't see an empty boat ramp until mid Oct. Used to be a nice place, now its all about serious traffic at every light and stop sign.
