I am installing a Armstrong 10" deck plate on the aft wall of the livewell to gain access to the bilge. In addition i am installing another deck plate in the splash well since I am mounting both new pumps ( raw water washdown and livewell) on the transom.

I was thinking about cutting out the livewell during the winter but never did figure out how to build a hatch with drain lip . The below deck space is significant once you remove the livewell.

Tx I think the armstrong hatch route is the way to go.
