Well, I'm out. Today I found out my engine has seized up for unknown reasons since it ran fine before we repaired the outdrive, good oil, no water intrusion, etc. Darn thing won't turn even with the plugs out. Now I'll have to look into a new engine so I don't think I'll have a boat for the tournament.

I'm not sure but my mechanic says that the Mercruiser 3.0 liters tend to do that if you don't turn them over once every 3 months or so. Since mine was laid up since Dec. perhaps that's what happened. I was told to fill up the cylinders with Marvel's Mystery Oil and leave it for a few days. I did that today and will be back from the USVI on Wednesday so we'll see if that does the trick. Oh well, but the good news is that the wife agrees that we should repower her soon so I'm starting to look for deals! Let me know if you know any Mercruiser dealers with good prices.

As for the tournament I accept the invite. Let me know what to bring besides the fishing gear. Thanks!

Man, the fates have really conspired against me, I completely forgot I'm the godfather on a wedding that same day in Melbourne! Sorry guys and thanks for the invite Jorge. I guess I'll catch the next one.

June 10 is getting close.
If it's going to happen, I have two more boats which may have an interest in participating. 20' & 23' Seacrafts.
Let me know how we can help.

Well, that date, June 10, I will be at my daughter's dance recital, but against my better judgement, I will have my son and his friends go in the tourney in my behalf, on my boat. Time to see if they can find fish on their own!!

The fishing tournament Noahsark was organizing for June 10 has stalled. I know from his posts that he has been in the hospital with back problems and may not be able to attend. I have sent him a message but I have not gotten a reply and he has not posted since 05/09. I have been in touch with Capt. Brad who has moved to Melbourne but still wants to support it through his company, Frenzie Lures, Inc. Over 14 boat owners expressed an interest which would give us 30 – 45 participants. I will volunteer to collect the entry fees and buy the supplies unless Noahsark is able to continue to organize it, in which case, I offer my help and support to him to carry on.

Since June 10 is only 8 days away, I propose that we delay it until Saturday, June 17 so that we can pull it together:
My suggestion:

Date: Saturday, June 17, 2006
Location Elliot Key
Lines in at 7:00AM
Weigh In 3:00 – 4:00
Bar-B-Que starting at 3:30 Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Beans, Chips, Slaw, water, cokes, Key Lime Pie
10 boats 15 boats
First prize - 60% of prize pool largest 5 fish $210.00 to $315.00
Second prize 25% of prize pool for heaviest fish
$ 88.00 to $131.00
Third prize15%largest fish by the ladies
$ 53.00 to $ 80.00

Please let me know if you have suggestions, can attend or will be able to help .
Let's see if we can get enough captains committed to make it happen:
Count me in:
