Truck (tool) Box Mounted Rod Holder

A buddy of mine has what you are talking about on his silverado. He has two rows of holders totaling 15. It connects to two brackets on his toolbox with pins. He had a T-top/leaning post/etc builder build it for him. I think the total cost was around 200. The only thing I dont like about it is, with the tool box it takes up alot of bed space.

Yeah George, that's what I was afraid of. I'm liking the idea of pins to pull and remove for space, but I guess that will make another whole theft problem. Does he use safety cable to tie the reel necks to the rocket launcher, just to keep the honest people honest? Or you just can't let the rig out of site? Maybe it's time to try truck accessory places on line, or Bass Pro. Just looking for ideas. Thanks. Mike.

Yea, he only has the rods in the holders when he is with the truck. Having somne sort of lock would be nice though.

i was contemplating this set for my toolbox but all i do is travel from house to slip, just to keep them from sliding all around the back,- no surf fishin or anything like that, i think they make this in stainless for about 20 bucks more-

Thanks guys. Craig, I really like the one you found, mostly for the price. I met with a guy who has a very small operation locally. Coincidentally his whole family is from your neck of the woods. His Dad is a commercial shellfish captain and commutes from here to Newport News and is presently dragging off of Connecticut. His sons name is Raymond Martin.

Anyway, we've got something similar to a whale tail, with 7 anodized, gimbaled rocket launchers, set at 60*, and a custom installation mounted inside the box. It will look pretty sharp, and be removable. Still waiting for the quote, but I'm afraid I could have had Birdsall build a standard leaning post for about the same price. Still have not committed but believe I have found what I want. Could not fit 8 launchers within 90* bends. Would have been just over 5" between and I don't need the reels fighting each other for 1200 miles to the Cape. Thanks all. Mike.
