Yet Another Transom Job in the Works - ?ions

Bryan - the main reason for the Penske Board on the transom cap and bulkhead was to cut down on weight.
Also I did not have enought 1/2 inch marine plywood to do the transom cap and bulkhead so I ordered the sheet of Penske board here locally and picked it up.
It is really easy to work with..

I'm almost finished fairing on the transom - took these pics of the transom bulkhead in the daylight - time to be one with the sander...

Took another couple of days off work here are the results. This has been a long arduous task only being able to work on the boat after work and on weekends..

The first couple of pics (where the transom looks pinkish) are 3 barrier coats of tinted epoxy over the system3 quickfair. Faired that out and now have put on my first coat of paint.

Took tomorrow (Friday) off work and plan on working on her for the next four days straight. Still have a lot of fairing and sanding to do on the interior but I’m getting there.

My boat will look new from the console aft, I plan on prepping and painting the fore deck after I get her back running (AND FISHING)…

Thanks Strick... Took a vacation day today and worked on the the boat for about 13 hours.. mostly sanding..
