Motors went on fairly easy. I have quite a bit of fish work remaining before I do any more mechanical work. More painting, button up windshield, finish harware etc.

Hey Jaizzen,
I have been following your work closely. I have an 82 Sceptre and have been doing minor restoration/improvements, but nothing like yours. Your boat looks great. Also, i do alot of diving out of the cedar key/steinhatchee area, although mostly skindiving. Used to dive out of tarpon springs/clearwater/st pete for many years, with the spuc freedive boys. Anyway, you seem to have alot of weight on the transom and the tank storage more toward the stern. When I load down the boat at the stern it rides completely different, especially in the gulf chop, even with the tabs down. Weight more toward the bow really helps the boat move through the waves. Just a thought. Great luck with your boat. Brent |

Good to hear from someone local. I dive, skin and scuba out of the Hatch and Cedar Key everyonce and a while. Mostly the grounds and deeper now though. I know a ton of SPUC's however, I am a member of Team Headhunter a Spearboard Club.
I'm not too sure what you a are saying about the stern. I moved the fuel 8 inches forward and added a large fishbox up front to offset the weight. The tank racks as you know, can slide forward or aft. I figured sliding 6 tanks on each side 6" forward or Aft (by design) will significantly change how the boat sits in the water. I also have a slider that goes between the battery boxes. Are you thinking I'm too stern heavy? I'd certainly like to know. Are you running a similar set up. I've put a ton of thought into setting this thing up. Love to hear from some owners with similar set ups. Thanks again for the help!, Jason |
