Yeah fellowship, those bugs did a number on this one. Guys don't get me wrong, I understand what you guys are saying about the amount it will take to redo this boat, but i didn't start this to save money, and honestly i know that it will be along time before this boat actually floats again, but when it does can you imagine the sense of pride of doing a job this great would make you feel like, and i didn't want a boat like everone else had. Actually, i wanted something NOBODY had, something that will stand out, something that you couldn't go out and buy. WHEN ITS DONE, YOU WANT EVEN RECOGNIZE IT i PROMISE!

dearl-
if I were you I'd wait a couple more months and let those termites finish their job. They will strip it down to the bare fiberglass then you can start rebuilding it from there. You may want to bottle up a few of those critters and cross breed them. I think you may be on to something here. Termites on steroids. You can sell them to guys like us who like to refurbish old boats. ![]() strick

Ha Dearl;
All kidding aside, I started with a Seacraft in terrible condition kind of like your boat is. It actually makes things easy. YOU CAN’T SAVE ANYTHING so it frees you to tare it out there is No Doubt it all needs to be replaced. When you get done you got a new boat plus you will know every inch of it. Good Luck and remember to buy large quantities of BEER you will find it will aesthesis you which will make it easier, always remember never do more than 1 six pack of work in any one day or you will get discouraged through your built out. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() FellowShip _______________________________________________ My motto: Just for the Grins |

I'll probably stay pretty NUMB during the whole disecting stage. You wouldn't beleive it, but since i opened up the boat, the ants are making short work of all the termites. couldn't hardly find any yesterday. Oh well, you right about having a new boat, and i have a few thoughts that are going to twist this project all up.

Finally got this heavy SOB off the trailer, and out of the weather. Started on the transom first, evicted all them bugs the hard way. Idid find some spots that had water under the glass, and boy was this stuff foul, I had a 3M particule mask on and could still smell this stuff. Still have 1 small area at this base of the right hand corner to grind out, then i can start cleaning the area were the stringers used to be.

As long as you have another boat (and it's paid for), who cares how long it takes.
