In most of the rework Mako project's on CM those type box's are cut out of the boat.

You can't get to the transom easy, they are to short to lean your knee aginst and cause a trip hazzard.

I agree w/ Warthog. What about adding a 14" cap on the transom on either side of the engine box and putting in hanging boxes. You can knee-up to the transom, your feet will go under the boxes and you can drop hatches into the floor to access the bilge
