Beau,
The 150 motor will be just about perfect. Maybe a little heavy since it is a v6. Make sure you move the batteries and other stuff up under the console. Scuppers under water may still be an issue though. You could always use the ping pong ball type scuppers. Most people say good things about those. Some people have the yamaha 130 2s and some have the suzuki 140 4s. They say that both of those motors push the boat great and get great fuel mileage. As far as the console goes, I would check out marine connection liquidators, http://www.marconlq.biz/, some have found pathfnder consoles to fit pretty good. Trayder has one in his boat. You could always do like I'm doing. Its a lot of work for an old style console (no flush mount electronics) but to me its better than forking over another $400 to $600 for a console.

I threw away the old console (the 36" wide variety that I imagine you have) and created a custom one that is 28" wide that Wildfire Marine can duplicate for you if you are interested (they can be reached at 772.286.1925). Here is what mine looks like now:

Not AwlGrip at all, it's "Polar White" PPG Concept. I had originally thought of bottom painting it but it lives on a lift behind my house so no need for bottom paint. The old AwlGrip was removed and replaced with PPG Concept. It has worked out very well so far - it's three years old at this point.

Beau,
I cut 4 inches out of the middle of the console. I'm wishing now that I would have cut out a little more. I'll be replacing the front seat that I cut out with a cooler. If you are ever in lafayette, give me a call and stop by. 2616944. I will also keep you posted with pictures.

Will and Ikan thanks for the advice. I've already considered cutting down the existing console. Will, I'd like to see your's when your done, let me know I'm from around Lafayette and maybe I could come by or send me a pic. I'll try the other resources before I make a decision. Sounds like I'll be going with a 115 on the motor.
