If you have time post a report or PM. I will check before i leave to see if i should head south or north.

Now I gotta add one of those big, fish box sized coolers, like you have - the fishwell under the rear port seat ain't big enough for big fish. What size are those you have ??

Bill, the coolers i have are Igloo MaxCold 120. They are a good fit, anything larger takes up too much space. Inside length is ~36 inches, so it will fit nice fish also with a little bending. Try Wally world if any leftovers.

Well, Miles, i am sure that you will see no pics of any bluefin, do to the fact there were none out there. In fact there was no nothing out there. No birds, whales, tuna. There was some bait and plenty of bluefish tearing up my squid rigs. most of the fleet was kite fishing with live bluefish and even they had no luck. the bait was down about 60 feet and no marks on the machine to indicate tuna. All the chater on the radio indicated that no one was doing anything from the NW corner of Stellwagon to the SW corner, to the bay. As for myself i started out steaming to the se in the bay, then to the SW corner of Stellwagon, then another 15 miles east of that. All in all, they were not there. Pretty sloppy in the AM but turned ESE around 11 and was pretty nice. Lots of fuel and nothing to show for it.

same nothing on Charlie, though we did see some whales, a little guy near race Point, and a big guy out on the Southwest corner of stellwagen.

Did a tour of the bay, saw nothing, picked up a few blues off RP, then headed out to the SWC. Did have alot of fun with bruiser blues chomping on our bird / daisy chain rigs - watching them attack a fast moving splash rig on the surface was pretty impressive.

All told, kept 6 blues for eating, boated and released a bunch more.

Was an amazingly clear day, could see P-Town from way down by Barnstable. and as Chance said, after 11 or so the water laid down pretty good, and conditions were decent.

all told, a hellova day OTW - can't argue with that.

Well, it was pretty rough today! 6 footers in the mix made it interesting. Made it to the NW corner though it was the NW corner of Nahant!

Anyhow, pretty fun day with birds blitz all over the place. Peanut bunker was being smashed by mostly small stripers.

I finally hit a 33" one for dinner with the ole cripple herring. You want a pic, here it is .....

At the NWC we saw pods of fish breaking and picked up three on the troll within an hour. All were about 40"+. Then the bite died with the arrival of a hundred other boats to a small area.

Saw scattered schools SE of there throughout the afternoon while we were catching cod and haddock and later trolled again. In retrospect we might have been more productive if switched to run and gun instead of going back to trolling.

Roger - where did you launch from to get to the NWC ?

From several reports I've seen elsewhere, either the NWC, or well east of the bank, where the places to be.

I haven't gotten beyond the SWC yet, but I have a hunch going out east and around the corner to the BD buoy, and slightly south/inside of that, is going to be a needed trip.

But might have to wait till next year, now, gettin late in the season, me thinks, to get much more good weather.

We launched from Weymouth. Ton's of big blues on top of the bank too - we were getting one on every drop of the jig.
