I have a 1975 20' sf and this is what the stringers look like where they tie into the transom. The knee or trinangle brace on the center stringer is obviously an add on that I did. Your boat should have the same configuration as mine; one center stringer which is a 2x4 glassed over and two outer stringers that are 12 inches accross the top. These are glass over foam. They run all the way up to the front casting deck. Here's a picture of just the transom area of my boat.

Will,
Thanks. Mine looks the same, including the new knee brace that I added the other day. Waiting for some warmer weather to finish glassing everything together on the inside. I asked the question about the stringer system 'cause I was under the trailer the other day looking over the bottom of the hull and I started banging on it in a few places. Got a very different sound out of the port side middle strake. Short of drilling holes/inspectionports, I started wondering what might cause that situation, so I started looking at photo's on teh site and was really surprised at how many different stringer systems I saw. |

I THINK that in or after about '72 they went with the two large box stringers in the 20's rather than the four smaller individual ones that you refer to seeing in my '71. ....I think.
