Default Re: twin 225's on a 23 scepter

There was a 23 open near me with twin late 90's 250 Mercs and it was not slow. It had a non-floatation bracket and eventually succomed to davey jones's locker but I bet it was a thrill to drop the hammer on that ride. zoom zoom.

I am not advocating overpowering your boat but many 150, 200, 225 and 250's are the same block and in some cases the higher hp motors are lighter by 15lbs or so (see the 115 suzuki 4S and the 140 as an example) If you can get a deal on any of the V6's and are confident in your boating skills, boats integrity, and have an insurance policy that will cover you liability wise (this may be tough) it is an option.
