Picked up a dpdt switch for my nav/anchor lights today and cant figure out how to wire the damn thing now. on-off-on
i need it to light both forward and aft masthead light in one(anchor) position i need only the forward masthead, and side lights and a transom (white)to light in the running position. I have rear stern light so i dont want that aft masthead to light when in the nav light position- (otherwise i am showing 2 whites from astern, and im not towing, lol) this dpdt switch has 7 spades on the rear, - anyone tell me how to wire it to make it work properly? still want to keep the instrument lights on a seperate switch so i can leave them off when running in the dark on those dark moonless nights. dont mean to highjack the thread- thanx- craig ![]()

I would say yes. Each + feeds the corrosponding sides line connection.

![]() All you need to do is run 1 hot wire to the switch. Install 2 wire's in a female spade terminal and with the extra wire make a little jumper wire with another female spade terminal on the end of it to hook to the other connection. Just a loop jumper wire. |

Here's some other wiring I did on a 20ft Mako.
The boat has a single DT-140 Suzuki. The batteries were moved inside the console. It has a Start & House battery with a Blue Sea's ACR unit to charge both batteries. It also has a 3rd master switch to combine the House batt. to the Start batt. if needed. I don't really like combining the batteries with the ACR to start the motor. This is due to the amperage load of the starter motor. Blue Sea's has since come out with another new setup that look's pretty neat. http://www.bluesea.com/product.asp?P...&d_Id=&l1=&l2= ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
