After a good hull, transom and stringers inspection. I would clean it and start with the motor. Have you run it yet?

well so far the engine cranks ,all electric works, but the motor is shot ,i was gonna repower anyways, looks like the drive is in good shape has all new clean hardware in it,so it looks like it was recently serviced..the transome looks like it was backed into,so gonna have to rebuild that..the stringer look great but i havent tested yet, thats next..any hints on how to go about checking all this stuff or how to rebuild the transome..any help would be useful,i am on this site hours a day learning so much, its a lot of fun and im hooked.lol

i will try to get some pics of the transom today..its not overly bad if u scroll up to my pics u can see that they covered the push in woth some plexiglass..but so far for looking at the stringers they look like they are in sweet condition..ill tap them later on this week ..I was wondering how hard the transom would be to repair, would it just be some glass,,if so i could do it then..

Anything is doable. And you are in the right place. I don't have any experience with outdrives but from what I can tell it looks like someone repaired it before. Without seing in person I can't tell what is going on. Maybe some of the other members could chime in and offer help. The nice thing about an I/O is the transom does not have to support the weight of the motor. Good luck.

well i checked the stringers ,thinkin i was in deep trouble ,and to my surprise i drilled into them and perfect tan colored and dry wood came out onto the drill bit.i was really happy to see that.now i know i can go further into rebuilding this boat into the fishing boat it was made to be..
