Thanks for the laughs and info guys,you must have the same friend that used to fish with me,years back.I actually had to replace the screws with ss toggle bolts on his pedestal.

I'm not going to be using pedestals on the seats,i'm either going with a s.s or alum. four leg frame,fastened to the deck,or a two leg frame that would mount to the deck,come up and and then bend over to the side,and somehow be fixed to the gunell cap.I've also given some thought to mounting the seats on some glassed boxes to serve as storage.

The only use this boat will get is for continuos trolling on the great lakes for salmon.We need all the space we can get for tackle,so i wanted to be able to somehow slide spoon boxes under the seats without pedestals being in the way.

We normally have over a thousand spoons,hundreds of stick baits,flashers,dodgers, flies,dipsy divers etc.on board,so space is at premium.I'll have to just keep on brainstorming until something looks right.
