Default Good fiberglass shop in South eastern Ma.

I recently laid out plenty of cash for an Armstrong double wide bracket with a swim platform only to find out that my origanally sterndrive transom in slightly bowed outward and the bracket will not lay flat against it.The transom is very thick and rock solid, does any one know of a shop in south eastern Ma. that could make a modification to make this work? Thankyou

My first recommendation would be to see if you could return the bracket to Armstrong and have them issue you a credit toward a bracket designed specifically for your boat.

If that is not possible, there are several good fiberglass shops on the south shore who do nice work.

Custom Fiberglass in Hingham: Ritchie Doyle
Metan Marine in Norwell: Mike Borelli

There is also another guy who is a member of this board and runs a shop down on the Cape. I believe his companies name is Offshore Systems.

Contact John Strome at Strome Marine, 508-527-0499 on Great Western Road in Dennis.

He has a small shop with low overhead, John did my 27 , including the transom, it is on Meetinghouse road in Chatham if you want to see his handi-work. He has a yellow 23 in his shop right now, which he just finished the transom. He has done a ton of Seacrafts, and can do anything with glass. I am sure he can help you out, he will steer you in the right direction, even if it is better to modify the bracket rather than the boat.

Good luck,
