Nestor - if you get serious about this one, let me know, if interested, I'm only 1.5 hr away, and could help give it the hairy eyeball treatment.... and would enjoy meeting you.

Thanks Bill, me too! Actually I'm looking for a good Marine Surveyor to check it out for me, do you know any in the area?

Nestor - where is the boat physically ? (I'm kinda doubting it's in someones backyard, in Cambridge - they don't have backyards there..) North Shore, out on Cape Ann, somewhere by Boston Harbor, down on the South Shore ?

Nestor -

Do a google on Marine Surveyors Boston

also, go to www.maineharbors.com, go to Mass / Nauticle Links

I see a couple people with the right qualifications, Rob Scanlon, also the outfit in Scituate, which is just down the south shore from Boston/ Cambridge.

just a note, the B-25 has a 9.5 beam, which means a bit of a trailering hassle, to haul it back to Florida.

Nestor-

Here are the names of two Boston area surveyors that I recommend to my customers.

Capt Bob Gallagher,Norm LeBlanc & Associates-978-774-5190
Capt Kevin Duchak, Duchak Maritime Services- 978-777-9700

That 25 Bertram has been off and on craigslist for a while. I bet you could steal it if you waved some cash around. Just be to sure to have any offer subject to a survey.

Good luck.

Ed

PS- During the summer, the boat is kept in the Charles RIver. I am not 100% sure, but it is probably kept on the hard either up the river in Watertown or over in Chelsea/Charlestown/East Boston.

Thanks guys! I really need some help on this one. I actually found what I think is an even better one in Bellmore, NY for almost the same price. The one in Cambridge needs lots of work and you know that's my problem, no place for major work, the one in NY has small engines but the rest of the boat looks good. I can always change out the engines later but at least I'm told she's turn-key which is what I need right now. Anyone near Bellmore, NY?

Ed, thanks for the surveyor contacts, I will never buy another boat without a survey done, it also helps with the insurance.

Bill, I know, she's HUGE but I already found the right trailer for her and it's not as expensive as I thought, about $2500-$3000; and Jorge's biting at the bit to go get her with his truck (I'll have to upgrade mine to handle the weight), he's gassed up and ready to GO! All I need is $10k real quick!
