Water pickup/transducer

Hey fish on I work here in naples...No great dock canoe race for you today?

I plan on mounting a flush mount ducer but I didnt know if the water pickup was in front of the ducer, if it would create a bubble trail that might mess with the ducer reading. Thanks again.

Mine are on opposite sides on my 23'...both about the same distance from the transom. I'll get a pic if you want one.

I kept the water pick-up on the starboard side although Airmar reccomends theirs be on starboard. There are no issues....even the electronics sales guys said it's put on port all the time with no problems. They are both about 12" off the centerline. In the bilge is 6"x6"X3/4" plywood w/3 coats of epoxy. It's been 4200 down and all screw holes, etc. If and when the floor comes up I would rather have them glassed in (future project). If you install a water pick-up the "correct" way is to have a true sea-cock and not just a fitting or valve. Just my $.02 Good luck!!

Last time I went to the canoe races, I was the closest to being arrested that I have ever been in my 46 years. I was boarded 4 times in one day. The last time I had alot of liquid courage. All most got a b.u.i.
