No you don’t have to fill in the transom. BUT for me and I’m probably talking for a lot of guys like Strick has said that transom is questionable. How do you know that it is in good shape? Did you have some one test it for water? Did you drill holes in it? Was it ever rebuilt? Just because it looks ok doesn’t mean it is ok.
