Inboards
85 23' cc straight shaft inboard; in the process of repowering, rewiring and redoing console; would appreciate any pictures with ideas and suggestions -- would like to eliminate having to flip entire t-top to access engine -- also suggestions for locating fuel vents -- previous owner had them outboard mounted which allowed water intrusion
thanks -- jim |

Re: Inboards
if you search inboards there is plenty of info and pictures- Chance has a lot of pictures, I do too with wiring and other stuff- my fuel vents might be in the same place as yours , i dont know but i havnt had any problems with water intrusion to my knowledge.

Re: Inboards
Jim,
I have same exact boat and did the same thing 2 seasons ago. I have the stock console and have engine access from a wooden access panel on the back of the console & a front seat that flips up on the front of the console. I have also cut in 2 inspection hatches on the front of the console for easier access to the top of the motor. I also had inpection hatches cut into the deck for easy access to change the plugs etc... To do any major work the T-Top does flip all the way forward for complete engine access. |

Re: Inboards
I dont' have any expertise in this but I think you'd want to keep the fuel vents outboard. Otherwise, I'd be worried about venting fuel vapors and the occasional burp during fill-ups in to the cockpit.

Re: Inboards
The fuel vents on mine are factory installed facing aft slighty downward. Working on most motor issues are pretty easy with the shelf lifting up to expose the motor
