Re: Sanding inside curves
I like this little guy. It comes with some attachments that are contoured for sanding round corners.

Re: Sanding inside curves
Ringleader's gadget from his project over on Classic Mako
that is probably overkill for most and i think you need a massive air tank to run it, but it does get cool factor points What about wrapping a wooden dowel and attaching the dowel to a 1x2 or something as a handle. just a thought....

Re: Sanding inside curves
How about various sizes of pvc pipe and self adhesive sandpaper (you can buy rolls of it). You could probably design some type of handle and thru bolt to the pvc as well.

What do the attachments look like? I need something for the large curves like in the first photo, but also some really small ones the size of a quarter.

Re: Sanding inside curves
I'll try and get you some pictures later. It costs about $39 at Lowes.

Re: Sanding inside curves
That apparatus I made for the air file does very well. The air file also does not chew up nearly as much air as a DA sander does. It runs pretty well with a 60 gallon compressor. 80 gallons would be ideal.
A DA sander with a very soft/flexible pad would be a good choice as well. |

Re: Sanding inside curves
Not that I have ever done it before but air file the rough sand then hand sand with a folded over self adhesive disk or a glued sheet of paper. IMHOP this doesn't necessitate a custom sander, just a little elbow grease and a couple of beers.
