I have the same issue and would love to hear about any solutions you come up with. I'll do the same. Right now, I just have a big fiberglass panel with a piano hinge about 1/3 of the way back from the front lip. It sucks. It's too big and heavy to store practically while the boats in use. I thought about trying to figure out some substitute using canvas or vinyl that could be easily stowed while underway but don't know how to use something like that and get a watertight seal to keep the rain out.
