Default Re: Painting Sceptre Cabin Rood

I need to redo my carpet too! What was your source for the OEM carpet? I checked with some local stores, and they said the backing on original material appeared to be latex, similar to what's used on indoor-outdoor carpet; much different than normal carpet.

Believe it or not, the carpeting is not a bad idea, because it insulates and seems to prevent sweating on underside of deck. On a clear summer night in Fl. with no wind, the surface temp drops well below the dew point, so by early morning deck surface looks like it rained. Without the carpeting, moisture will condense on the inside also. I've never had a problem with mildew on the carpet, despite our frequent 100% humidity! Have had some mildew on damp cushions however. Started using Damp-Rid a few years ago - small size container will be full of water in about 2 weeks!
