For a do-it yourself roll & tip job, you might want to check out Signature Finish. I used it to do my bootstripe. Doesn't require a primer, is easy to repair, and seems to be pretty durable. Capt. Chuck did his whole boat with it several years ago and is probably the resident expert on this site. Tsunami(73?) also used it recently. Not sure how well it holds up on the bottom.
