Transducer?

I want to remove the transducer from the transom and install it in the bilge, if this doesnt work well I am looking at an airmar B60. Heres the question. In the bilge is (i think) an old shoot thru transducer or temp sensor, Does anyone know what this is? Thanks

looks like a sensor from an old ditech temp. gauge
