Hey, Ken, I know that pier well. I used to be the Dockmaster at the Bayside Boatel, at Rt. 50 and the bridge, more than 20 years ago. I worked for the bank to manage it as it came out of bankruptcy. We sold RyboRunner, Checkmate, Winner, and Alumacraft boats, and I lived up on Eagle Drive about 6 miles up on the bay.
Lovely memories of driving my 21' Checkmate w/ 3.4L 300hp Merc up and down Assawoman bay. (It was faster than driving the car to work, even if driving that boat at 70 mph in a heavy snowfall is one of my strangest memories.) I even boated a 22lb white marlin out of that boat one day while fishing for bluefish just a mile offshore.

Fr Frank, The boatel is gone now,all condo's.I grew up in OC and ran charterboats out of Talbot St. Pier and the Angler for about 15 yrs back in the days when that was the only charter fleet in town. The town has changed a lot in the last 20 years, from the old Boatel south to the commercial harbor is all developed.Houses, condo's and a huge marina/dryrack complex.Change..some like it,I kinda liked it better back in the Day
