I too thought the ad was very,very up front with the discription of bottom.I had looked at the ad many times and wished that I was closer to the boat than the 1800 or so miles I think I am.

I am sorry that we disagree on this. I knew that there was upwards of 3 layers of glass that were delaminating. I realize that this is not a gelcoat blister type repair that needs to be done. my concern with is was that there was no mention of all of the fractured glass underneath that needed to be removed and repaired. the repair job is not at all limited to the area shown in the picture. I am sorry if I offended you billybob, but I feel that after going back and reading the post numerous times, that there was no mention of any structural damage.
when I ended up getting off the repair that you had done(before I started grinding of the rest of the fractured glass) it was clear to me that it was not structurally sound. I could push on the 5 or so remaining layers of bad glass and the whole section inbetween where those 2 lines meet would flex considerably. I dont feel that you owe me anything for this. I understand that I bought a project boat and I am sorry for what I said earlier. I was not in a good mood after seeing what was under there. I was able to put a few layers of glass back on today and I will post photos as soon as I can.

I was able to get the boat off the trailer. right now it is sittin up on blocks with the starboard side of the V pretty much flat maybe a little bast flat. this has allowed me to work on that spot fairly easily, but I think I will have to roll it more to get to the stuff that is behind the hole in the bow.
yesterday I put on 2 layers of biaxle and 1 layer of roving and it stiffened it right up(it barely flexes at all. today I will have to sand it and do a little preliminary shaping ane hopefully get a few more layers of glass on. I think I have enough of the original shape left there that I wont have to do a mold for it. It might take me a little longer, but I dont have a boat that I can make a mold off of here in Va and its gonna be wicked cold when I get back to Mass. As long as I get it close this year, and just do a little touch-up paint this year, I will be stoked to just get it in the water. I will worry about the real paint job next winter when I have more time and money to burn.

nate if possible try to do the repair from the inside first it will give you a strong reapai if done on both sides you might be able to cut the forward locker and then start the repair any questions i owen a small fiberglass shop in bourne and work on a lot of seacrafts . 1 508 759 1177
