trailer/aluminum cleaner?

I have my (rather costly) aluminum boat trailer parked beside my house in Florida and due to the number of trees around, it's in shade nearly all day long. As a result of a humid climate, rain, etc. my otherwise perfect trailer (less than 50 total miles on it since new) is now green! I've asked around and can't seem to get any decent suggestions as to what product might help turn it back into the shiny silver trailer it once was not so long ago. I've tried soap and water until my arms are about to fall off. Any ideas for anyone that has been down this road before? thanks

I have the same issue with my trailer AND just bought a used pontoon boat that I want to polish the pontoons on - I know I know "pontoon boat" BUT it gets more miles per beer than the old SeaCraft for bayou cruisin...

There is a detail product made by ZEP it is called
Brightner. It is a mild acid wash for Aluminum rims
on vehicles. It works great on stainless as well.
Find a carwash supply company in your area. It costs
about $22-$25 a gallon. I used to own an operate a self service carwash for 21 years in Daytona and the product will do what you want. The dilution ratio is real good. Just mix in a pump sprayer let it sit for about 2-3 minutes and just hose it off.
I use it any time stainless gets a little rust spot.
IE: Trim tabs, propeller, etc... It will work wonders
on your trailer. A gallon lasts me about 2 years...

Are aluminum trailers coated with a protective coating like an aluminum t top? If so I would be hesitant to use a brightener on it it could cause it to turn white after a while. Boaters world sells a product called alumi-guardthat with brass wool does an incredible job of making them look new. Just my 2c but from years in the wheel and auto business I have seen aluminum brighetners do Tons of near irreversible cosmetic damage.

Mobile Home wash. I get it at Northern Tool & Equipment in the pressure washer dept. Spray it on, let it dry, hose it off. Might need to do it twice.

Or peg what airplane people use to clean aluminum planes. I purchased a cleaner to clean an aluminum frame and found it very friendly yet did a great job of cleaning aluminum - it was anodized and did not turn it milky.

I have had success with Rupp's Alumaguard for the same issue. It won't damage the Al's protective coating. DO NOT use a mold cleaner like XR-1 or Tile-ex. don't ask me why I know this.
