Randy - If your tooth has a cavity . . . does the dentist pull out all your teeth and give you dentures? Hell no!! So if there is only a section of the floor that is rotten . . . there's no reason to cut the whole deck out. Just fix that section. Cut the top skin off replace the core and clean up the old skin bond the old skin back on . . . repair the seams . . . fair it out, gelcoat, sand, nonskid . . . and you're done.

It's really unusual for the entire deck to be rotten . . . and it's a LOT more work/expense to replace the entire deck . . . plus you'll never get the original look back especially if it's your first job. Hope this helps!!
