Re: seacraft 27 1978-1980s
(kerneltugboat) Are you referring to the Merritt Bros. in Pompano, Fl? As in Merrit Marine Yatch Builders?

Re: seacraft 27 1978-1980s
All I remember is he said Merrit Brothers, and that they had built very nice but larger Fishing boats (I guess you could call it a yacht). I belive the e-mail went something like "If I remember correctly". those were Bills words, so maybe he did not remember correctly.I wish I could find the old e-mail, but I can't. By the way, I love your boat, I tried to design mine around my dads 23, but I wish I had seen yours first. I would love to know some key dimensions, like of the Step height and location, how the front hatches are laid out, the distance from the Transom to the center console or Steering wheel location, etc and just curious if you know the weight as it sits, etc. and the fuel capacity.
Thanks, Dan

Re: seacraft 27 1978-1980s
Thanks, its been a fishing machine! I'll get you more exact measurements later but behind my leaning post sits a 200 Quart SSI Cooler and there is plenty of room behind it, where there is a giant below deck fish box and on the Port and Starboard side of it are two below deck livewells. Beam is 10' 4" rub rail to rub rail There are two 150 Gallon tanks one bow and other stern. AS far as the weight goes, I couldn't even give you an estimate, I just know everything on her is heavy, including the fiberglass hatche covers. Full of fuel and 55 gallons of freshwater the 225 Optis push her at 48 on GPS and empty at 51 mph. I will try and do some research and see what I can find on the 1986 27' Seacrafts.
