Default trim tabs for 23'

Any thought on what size/type of trim tabs I should install on my 23'. I have a single 250 Suzi mounted on a bracket.

I just put a set of Bennett 12x12 tabs, with 3" drop fins on my 23'Tsunami.
I spoke to the folks at Bennett, and this is what they recommended,According to them, the 3"drop fin on the sides of each tab, increase lift substantially.

They actually said that they would like to see longer tabs, but because of the variable deadrise hull,it's not possible;however, they said you can put two sets on the rear.I don't think it's necessary though,

I can say, that i run 9x12's on my other boat, (22'Trophy),and wish i went larger. The 9x12's work great, but i think bigger is definitely better than smaller.

BTW,my Tsunami is I/O powered, which is more weight than outboards,so maybe a smaller tab would be fine if you're running an outboard.
Give Bennett a call, they are awesome people to deal with, every company should have customer service like they do.

I have not run my 23' Savage C/C with a 230 Yanmar yet, but... we have installed a pair of Bennett 10" wide x 11" long with 1-1/4" fin drop. I'm sure this will not help your installation - and I HOPE it works for me ! (working off of the advice of a friend)

check out the trim tabs forum on TheHullTruth.com. Tabman is a Bennett employee and is more than helpful. He will probably answer your question of you bmail him there.

Im gonna guess he recommends the the Bennett M120's for your boat.

Ha James W

I work for Bennett as a account manager and help people all the time sizing their boats trim tabs. In additional to that I have a 23 CC Seacraft. That I rebuilt in 2001-02. As stated earlier in this thread the 12x12 are on my boat and are the best fit for a 23 Seacraft because of the longitudinal steps. You can also go with the 12x12DF – 3” drop fin which traps additional water under the tab for greater lift if you are stern heavy having a I/O or twins on the back. Some guys will go with the M120 (a little smaller) which are 10x12 in size. Personally the 12x12 are better for your boat. You can pick them up at any marine retailer and also on the web like E-bay for some cheaper prices. If you have any questions you can contact me at Bennett during the week. 954-427-1400 ask for Mack
