Thanks Fr. Frank - was hoping you would chime in here. I will try and tick off your questions below...

Tell me gear ratio, and whether you have bottom paint.
- not sure, will have to check specs on motor.

...if you're looking for maneuverability, mid-range performance and hole shot over top end.
- I am more interested in midrange and hole-shot - this is a chesapeake bay boat and I get a little wary with lots of floating debris on a 20'er that would do 50+knts - just does not sound safe. If i can get a better cruise that is a bit more smooth (think in general 4's are more smooth that 3's), then that is a good thing.

Tell us what yo have now, and how it performs - in detail.
- the motor has never been mounted to this boat hence why I was looking to the group for their experience.
