Default fuel tank placement

Ok experts, where did the fuel or "storage" tank go on your boats. I think I have the correct dimensions for a 50 gallon tank, but did everyone just put it in the center of the boat. I am getting to that point and just curious, not trying to turn this into rocket science but want to make it right.

Did any one move the console from the original location.

Skipjake I moved my console further back and the tank further forward to give a better balance of the boat. I can measure for you tommorrow if you want. The reason I moved the console back was I am putting a big livewell infront also I do most of my fishing from the bow and sides.

Howdy, been lurking awhile and wondered if I might ask how you tied the stringers to the transom? Yeah, I've got a classic Mako under the knife but I'm looking at my next one... Seacraft.... Thanks, Greg

its looking good so far. i will need to do all that one day. im gonna use mine till it needs it badly. what are you going to do with the rear hatches/seats that you cut out? try to glass them back in or make something else? im trying to get ideas when i have to do mine and see how it would be constructed.

grgmouse...i pretty much copied Strick and the others here on the transom rebuild. Closed cell foam and then covered it with woven/roven. I don't know all the technical names for each individual piece of Mat/Cloth etc. I just show up at the fiberglass house with a checkbook and legal tablet. I think you could drop this boat stern first on concrete and it woouldn't budge though. Here are a few pics I tought I had already included.

Blue...I think I am going to build those seats up to the gunnels with hatches on top.

Thanks. I hear ya about the glass. I've got so many rolls of different kinds in my little shed! I've had a huge learning curve getting up to speed. Luckily, like you, I've had some great resources like this site to lean on. Looks good. Keep it up! I also noticed I didn't see any limbers in the stringers around what looks like it would be the "bilge". Are there none or just not photo'd?
