Ok people, we are starting to get as fired up about this Gathering @ Ft. Desoto as our Northern Brethren do for their annual "3 guys driving around all day trying to find the CSC Gathering with no luck" I am looking forward to that island camping with wall to wall trees

Our biggest problem is getting the parking organized

OK kids its getting close and I'm getting fired up - ran into a past SeaCraft owner that has recently registered looking for a 23. I invited him although he was reluctent " because he didn't have another one yet" of course I tried to explain since they had 2 before and was looking he qualified

He found me at an island in Tampa Bay and came over, his name is trave2 hope we can convince he and his brother to come, maybe a couple IM's would help

Oh by the way, a Capt friend of mine gave a me a spot for giant reds 30"+ on the otherside of the skyway right near us. I will try and verify but have been there in the winter and it was good then, just slot fish.

According to the Farmers' Almanac we are in for a REAL cold snap for our gathering :

October 28th-31st An unseasonably chilly spell of weather coincides with Halloween, low 60, high 78.. That's too bad we have to deal with that kind of weather .

To our Northern Brothers:

Don't you need a break after putting your boat up for the winter? Come on down here in Sunny Florida and enjoy the Fall weekend (Florida Style) on this island paradise at the mouth of Tampa Bay............

Man-o-man......
I can not wait..
With all this negative stuff going on, we could all
use a break...
Did not mean to scare anyone off. (et23-Eddie)
I will leave the heat at home..... or maybe not.
At least we will sleep safe.

Picked up a load of gag grouper yesterday, but no camera to take pics with. Also brought to the boat three Lemon sharks, all between 10 and 30 lbs, and one 50-60 lb Jewfish, uhh, Goliath grouper.
BTW, For those that don't know, Lemon sharks are incredibly good when grilled up right!

We kept just two grouper and one Lemon shark to make dinner with.

We were fishing the old bridge rubble at N28*47.450 W83*03.400 about 15 miles off Fort Island, and never saw another boat out there, even though the fish were biting like they were starving. It was the best bite I've experienced in six or seven years.

I guess that weather prediction was dead-on when I posted this on 10/1
