Default 23' in FWC Auction

FYI...there is a 23' former FWC boat going on the auction block in Tampa. Check out tmauction.com...inventory search, car, vessel to find a photo. Never been to one of these auctions to see what kind of deals these boats go for...used to check inventory a lot before I bought my 20. They have a lot of Makos usually.

This boat was issued to an officer in Hudson that used to work for me in 2001. No problems with boat at first but lots of issues with the motor setup. It sank on Oct. 6, 2007 and the motors were serviced and running the same day. They never determined why it sank and it was taken out of service. The motors had about 100 hours and were run every day for a week but then it was taken to Tallahassee and who knows if they were run again.

I have bought several Makos, and a large Seaark Vc Ram from TMA, the boats have been beat to death and usually not auctioned unless they have transom or integrity issues, or I am guessing in this case sunk, etc. Also with all the new homeland security monies that were given out last year and the year prior many boats were replaced. TMA used to have great deals, I was picking up 25 makos with twin running 225's and a dual or triple axle trailer for 4-7k. Then the auction became really popular and the same boats with bad motors were going from 12-15k, even now any pos goes for 2 times its true value.
I haven't been in several months but when snow birds came down the prices went even higher. It will be interesting to see what it brings.

Thanks for the input, guys. I always assumed you could get a steal at TM Auction, but again, have never been. Also, obviously had no knowlege of the boat's condition or history. Sometimes interesting to browse anyway, as I have always admired the FWC crafts on the water. Love the gray ones with black tubes.
