Default Replacing Fuel Line 20' CC- Lost Fuel Sender Wire

Hey All,
I have finished Phase I of my Project. That was to Re Power to replace blown motor, Replace fuel Fill and motor main fuel line from tank, Install Fuse Box, Water Separator, Replace broken Binnacle Control Box, Throttle and Shift cables, Red Plug wiring harness, Bilge Pump, and steering Helm unit and cable. All went well EXCEPT that after remounting Console I was pulling old brittle wires out of the conduit and I pulled the Fuel Sender wire back into conduit...ARGGG ! I tried to fish it but havent been able to get it yet. Heres my question

Without removing Console again and accessing sender under the deck hatch how can I possibly retrieve the wire, and if I cant, would cutting a round access panel in the hatch to get to the sender be wise/stupid ? I would need to know WHERE the sender is located and cut my hole over it. I REALLY want a fuel gauge. Thanks in Advance !!

Dave

PS: Fr Frank and Bushwacker. You were right. That 90 HP Johnson pushed me 34-35. Plenty hole shot for me.

They really are not accurate. For Approx $125 go with a Northstar F210 Fuel Flow Monitor / Computer. It is easy to install and fits in the same mounting hole on the dash. You'll be glad you did

Here's a link to some shopping

Northstar Fuel Monitor

I, too, use the Northstar fuel meter but mine is integrated with my GPS and/or depthsounder.

Fraction of the cost of Flo-scan products...

That is a good link for locating prices and comparing all the stores and prices.
I just ordered one of the F210's from Rouge Wave Marine. They offered free shipping and w/o any sales tax the total price was only $115.95 delivered. I just happen to have an open 2" hole in my dash since repowering w/225 Honda. I have been trying to figure out fuel comsumption, now it will be easy. Only problem now is that we are shut down for salmon fishing until Feburary 2009 so I probably won't be going out until then, winter is starting to set in here in the Great Pacific Northwest.

Looks good, and thanks for responses. So the fuel computer would need to be told how much Fuel is initially in tank and then all the rest is automatic.

You will probably have to enter any new fuel amount as you purchase/add it.

I had an e-mail this AM from Rouge Wave Marine, they cancelled my order and would not honor the free postage , so I ordered from Hodges Marine Electronics for less money. It was about $5-6 cheaper since Rouge wanted over $11 shipping.
