Default Seacrafts = classic Mustangs?

Interesting thought. After talking to a boat restorer at the recent Florida Sportman Show here in Ft Myers last weekend we were discussing the boats being restored. He restore all brands but said the Seacrafts are the Classic Mustangs of the boat restoring world. He has clients that search for Seacrafts to be restored.

I certainly didnt argue with him but then I dont know if other boaters are fanatical as we are.

BTW, he had a gorgeous restored 71 20' SFCC there.

That statement doesn't seem like a good comparison to me. I don't have stats, but a good number of 23 seacraft's are restored by people who use them for commercial purposes. The 23 has a HUGE commercial fishing/charter following around New England and in Florida. The hull rides, drifts, and handles better than almost everything in it's size range. No commercial fisherman I know gives a crap what their boat looks like . . . just how it performs. So comparing a mustang to a seacraft . . . doesn't make sense to me. Mustangs aren't utilitarian or used for commercial purposes . . . Mustangs are not top performers either.

Well this is a subjective evaluation but some one said there is no such thing as objective just varying degrees of subjectivity.

For rebuilding a trailer boat Classic SeaCrafts are #1 and for a in water boats the 31’ Bertrum is #1

WHY?????

Several reasons but the bottom line is both are “GREAT” boats and when you get done most everyone that “really knows boats” well admire what you did and someone would be interested in buying it even if it is 30+ years old. That goes for commercial fisherman, charter captains, and experienced recreation lists. Those that know will know that a SeaCrafts for a rebuild is at the top of their short list and there really is no real competition.

I have got tons of complements over the years about my boat and it always come from knowledgeable boaters. The dummies couldn’t tell the difference between my boat and a Bayliner.

Shrimp, i think you are wrong here.

It should read that "Most commercial fisherman DO give a crap on what their boat looks like, they just don't care to do anything about it"

Classic Seacrafts = Classic Bronco's

Agreed! Here is classic example of classic.
American made!

However engineering is engineering, province/origin is not relevant. If the Seacraft was Italian or German made, I would still own one, how about you? Bottom Line; its the best engineered and best riding boat in its class.
I guess we are fortunate it was American Made- I am guessing, I dont know Mr Moeslys heritage or ancestry.

now all we have to do is get our manufacturing back so American made means something again Mr moesly's family was here for the opportunities that used to exist
