Default 1972 Seacraft Seafari w/200 Mercury

Hi everyone - I put an offer on a house this week and made a decision to thin out the fleet. I have 2 other boats . . . so it's time to put big red up for sale.

1972 Seacraft Seafari (California boat )
Freshwater (until 2 years ago) Mercury 2.4L 200hp with perfect compression 130 - 135 psi in all 6)
Hydraulic steering
Bennett Trim Tabs (needs new pump)
Fiberglass Bracket (see "Bracket project" on this site)
Navman Fuel flow meter.

Overall the boat is a little rough cosmetically, but structurally sound. The bracket is awesome for rough water or swimming. The boat has some serious speed (48.5 light with 2 people . . . seen 50+ gps alone) and is very economical 3.5mpg at cruise. I will demo for serious buyers with a deposit. The trailer is a galvanized dual axle trailer.

$5000 Firm

Dang, Big.
Should have left her in CA. I could've saved a lot of money just buying Red. Now I'm in the red, my boat's still white and I ain't got the green to enclose the transom and add a bracket. Looks like some is going to score!
50mph and 3.5mpg cruise - WOW!

I image the town is hanging flags at half mast for you, and walking around looking like they're at a funeral rather than celebrating the resurrection...

What are you keeping?

It makes me sad and it was a really hard decision, but the house is awesome!! (if the bank accepts the my offer). The extra $$$ will be my boating budget . . . if things go as planned. I don't need 3 boats either.

Very good! I live on Cape and Whitman is not too far for me. I am looking forward to see it. I had and sold my 18' CC SF (1975 hull) to my uncle last fall and regretted it ever since.
