Just got back from beaking in the waverunner and we stoppe at Durney Key. The island looked great and has room for over 20-20 tents no problem, and 15 minutes from Hooters and other places on the water Woohoo. The island has enough room for 100 plus boats and was Nice. I'll be sending pics to Carla to post

I checked the south end of Anclote and it would work and deep water for anchoring 23's and much more sheltered than the north end - straight sand so no bug issues.
Durney Key sounds like its closer to civilization for bathrooms, although its idle zone and anclote channel is not so maybe about the same time frame to get there.
By the way there is a new ramp near the south end of Anclote that was purchased by the county and is 24 hrs so no need for permits.

Either spot or Peanut Is is fine with us - although if PI - Sandy could you maybe arrange just 1 more tryout for Girls Gone Wild that weekend

Sorry for the horrid spelling on my prior post, I think the beverages had something to do with it
Any how Good news if we decide on Durney Key, I spoke with Kristen who owns Kormans Sunset Landing Marina a half mile away and just a 5-10 min idle at most, and they said we could use their restrooms no problem during business hours, but they do not have showers on site, They do have a rental cottage on the water next door to the marina that can sleep up to 10-12 between 3 bedrooms and pullouts, and it rents with dock dockage fees depending on how many boats for 160 a night. and any of us can use the showers etc at that point. OR you can drive another 15 or so minutes and shower at our house but we will be staying at the island no problem either way. Here is the link w pics of the rental cottage web page http://www.vrbo.com/235291

The last time we spoke about having something in YT,CR or Homosassa I could not find anything with what we need. Someplaces have parts. The marina in YT that NO BONES asked about would not have enough docking or camping space.

Then we have the bugs... This area is know as the sandgnat capital of the world!

Yankeetown Marina is a friend of mine and has a field that Fl Sportsman did a weekend on it's mostly rock and I would like someone else's opinion before I offer it up. the marina has restrooms but no showers. Shrimp boats show up around daylight.

I guess what I'm trying to say is it's nice living here but I would want to camp here.

Egg, anything on inner Tampa Bay?
